how do we get started?
Start by contacting us about how we can help. We’ll go over any questions and schedule an initial evaluation together. If you’ve had an evaluation within the last 6 months, we can review it to confirm it supports a current plan of care; otherwise, we’ll complete a new one before beginning therapy.
what if I am not sure speech therapy is needed?
That’s okay—many people start with the same question. If you’re unsure, reach out and we’ll talk through your concerns. We are happy to schedule a free screener or consultation. After that an evaluation will help determine whether therapy is recommended, or if monitoring and home strategies may be a better first step.
what ages do you work with?
We support clients from birth through early adulthood from ages 2-18. Whether your child is a newborn needing feeding support, a toddler just beginning to communicate, or a teen navigating social, academic, or functional communication goals—we’re here every step of the way and hope to follow your child through all stages.
what areas do you treat?
At Social House Therapy, we support people of all ages with a wide range of communication needs. Some of our therapy areas include speech sound disorders, understanding and using language, social communication, cognitive communication, stuttering and fluency, feeding, apraxia of speech, and AAC (augmentative and alternative communication). Whether you’re a child, teen, or young adult, we’re here to help. Every plan of care is personalized to reflect each client’s goals and what matters most to them and their family. what do i need for teletherapy?
You’ll just need a camera-enabled device, a reliable internet connection, and a quiet space. We’ll send you a secure link to join—no special equipment is required.
where do you provide therapy?
In-home therapy in Tempe, Scottsdale, and nearby areas; telehealth available statewide. We can also provide services to your child in aba and child care centers subject to approval.
how long are speech therapy sessions?
We offer 30-minute or 60-minute sessions, and we’ll recommend the best fit based on your child’s needs so therapy stays effective, engaging, and not overwhelming.
do you accept insurance?
We’re currently private pay, but we do provide Superbills (special receipts) that you can submit to your insurance. Some plans reimburse, some don’t—coverage is very plan-specific, but we’ll make sure you have the paperwork you need to try.
what payment options are available?
At this time, we accept private pay (out of pocket). Additionally, we can provide documentation called a Superbill to submit to your insurance provider. Some insurance companies will accept Superbills for in-network reimbursement, but it does vary on a plan-by-plan basis.
what forms of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards through our secure online portal.
what is your cancelation policy?
We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Your first late cancellation or no-show is treated as a one-time courtesy. After that, late cancellations (less than 24 hours’ notice) are charged 50% of the session fee, and missed sessions without notice are charged the full session fee. Consistent attendance is essential for progress, and missed sessions also prevent us from offering that time to another client.
how will i receive progress updates and reports?
Progress reports are provided quarterly and summarize goals, progress, and next steps. If you’d like more information before a report is due, we can review progress with you upon request. All reports and documentation are securely shared through the Client Portal.
can family members or caregivers participate in therapy?
Yes—family and caregivers are welcome to participate. Involvement outside of sessions helps strengthen progress and carryover into everyday life.
can you coordinate with other providers and support teams?
Yes—with written permission, we can collaborate with schools, healthcare providers, and support teams to align goals and promote carryover across settings.
is everything private and secure?
Yes. All information is kept confidential and compliant with HIPAA standards. We use SimplePractice, a secure, encrypted platform for scheduling, progress notes, reports, and messaging.
